چکیده

— Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) transmission has been a topic of great interest for a few years due to the huge spectral ef ciency gain it can provide over rich scattering transmission channels, such as indoor (e.g. wireless local area networks) or urban outdoor (e.g. mobile wireless communications). MIMO transmission channels are usually modelled by random matrices. In this paper, we use results from random matrices theory to derive the statistics of the smallest singular value of a MIMO channel. Indeed, the smallest singular value is of crucial importance for the performances of the transmission system because it determines the minimum distance between the received vectors. Key-Words : — MIMO, Wireless Digital Transmissions, Random matrices, Wishart matrices, Eigenvalues, Singular Values, Statistics.

Modulation-Mode Assignment in SVD-Aided Downlink Multiuser MIMO-OFDM Systems

Multicarrier transmission such as OFDM (orthogonal frequency división multiplexing) is an established technique for radio transmission systems and it can be considered as a promising approach for next generation wireless systems. However, in order to comply with the demand on increasing available data rates in particular in wireless technologies, systems with múltiple transmit and receive anten...

Performance Analysis of SVD-assisted Downlink Multiuser MIMO Systems

Abstract: Multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) downlink (DL) transmission schemes experience both multiuser interference as well as inter-antenna interference. Instead of treating all the users jointly as in zero-forcing (ZF) multiuser transmission techniques, the investigated singular value decomposition (SVD) assisted DL multiuser MIMO system takes the individual user’s channel cha...

Performance Evaluation of Beamspace MIMO Systems with Channel Estimation in Realistic Environments

Beamspace MIMO (BS-MIMO) systems have been recently proposed as a means to address the two key weaknesses of conventional MIMO systems: the antenna size and the need for multiple RF chains. BS-MIMO transmission is supported by the Electronically Steerable Passive Array Radiators (ESPAR) with a single active and multiple parasitic elements. The main objective is to develop efficient MIMO multipl...

Performance Analysis of MIMO-OFDM System Using Singular Value Decomposition and Water Filling Algorithm

In this paper, MIMO is paired up with OFDM to improve the performance of wireless transmission systems. Multiple antennas are employed both at the transmitting as well as receiving ends. The performance of an OFDM system is measured, considering multipath delay spread, channel noise, Rayleigh fading channel and distortion. In this paper, bits are generated and then mapped with modulation scheme...

A New Approach to Multiple Antenna Systems: Sum Capacity Optimization Through Interference Avoidance

Using an isomorphism between the multiuser detection problem and transmission of information over MIMO channels coupled to recent results on optimal signature waveform construction, we present a new approach to information transfer in multiple antenna systems. Using a multicarrier modulation scheme at each transmit antenna with sinusoids as carriers, we obtain a matrix model of the MIMO channel...
